Our Story...
Global Samaritan Resources began in 1999 with a very simple mission: Collect surplus goods and share them with people in need. We started in an old supermarket building and all of our pick ups and deliveries were made with an old truck. Over the past 25 years, GSR has shipped surplus goods and humanitarian aid to people in need in more than 56 countries on five continents.
Partnering with hundreds of churches, ministries and non-profits, Global Samaritan has provided millions of US Dollars of humanitarian aid, water purification and disaster relief, both "around the corner" in our hometown of Abilene, Texas and "around the globe." In 2006, Global Samaritan Resources became a 501(c)3 non-profit organization registered with the IRS.
Today, from our 55,000 square foot warehouse in Abilene, Texas, we collect, we store and arrange shipments for mission teams, churches and other organizations that bring their goods to our warehouse. We handle all the logistics. We are blessed to be the conduit to move surplus goods and aid from our warehouse to where it is most needed in order to help relieve suffering in our world. For us, logistics is more than receiving, storing, and shipping material aid for people in need... logistics means HOPE.
We fill a niche role with our logistics capabilities and assist our partners with obtaining the critical resources and supplies to deliver hope where it is needed, whether that hope is in the form of food, medical, educational or business equipment or supplies. We possess the unique knowledge and expertise to help get assistance to where it is needed.
