Keziah First Aid Clinic Center - Odalarevu, India

The Keziah First Aid Clinic Center was built from donated tsunami funds and current management is through V. Raj Kumar, the clinic's director. The land upon which it was built was donated by two Christian single female sisters who wanted to give back to the village where they grew up.

The structure itself was erected in the village of Odalarevu near the mouth of the Godavari River and the Bay of Bengal on the East coast of India. It was officially inaugurated on January 4th, 2008.

The KFACC provides basic primary community health care, including: basic medical screening, consultation, and occasional basic pharmaceutical distribution. The KFACC also provides basic minor emergency treatment. It seeks to be able to concentrate on prevention through community education, vaccinations, and social/spiritual support.

The KFACC is staffed locally by indigenous personnel and medical services are provided by KIMS (Konaseema Institute of Medical Sciences) hospital. KIMS is a local nonprofit hospital, medical school, and nursing school. Because the KFACC is staffed by KIMS' medical residents and nursing students under the auspices of their supervisors, it serves not only as a community health outreach center, but also a teaching extension for KIMS.
