GSR RESPONDING TO HAITIAN CRISIS
The situation in Haiti is both critical and appalling. Thousands upon thousands are homeless and the relief goods are never enough at the first of a crisis. But, governmental assistance from the US and other countries is beginning to be shipped.
Global Samaritan planning is to ship into Haiti multiple water purification units which are capable of producing 50,000 gallons or more of pure water daily. We are looking for cooperating congregations and individual to assist us with the cost. Each unit will cost us $2,500 plus shipping. We will send the units and provide training in installation and maintenance.
Impure water is the cause of 80% of the disease of the world. Given the current uncertainties, our belief is that this provides a greatly needed service which will continue to serve the poor and vulnerable for years to come.
Of course we will be sending in medical and orthopedic supplies as well.
