Global Samaritan Resources has been around since 1999. What started as a two man operation has since sent or participated in nearly 100 shipments valued at millions of dollars, plus partnered directly with many wonderful projects worldwide. GSR has been a 501(c)(3) Texas Corporation since 2006. GSR chose Abilene to operate from because it is a community that boasts three Christian Universities and has a heart for the poor and hurting of the world. Hundreds of missionaries and aid workers pass through each year and share of a world in need of gigantic proportions.
GSR began operating out of an old grocery store in 2000 that it leased from a generous company. Staff would slowly gather supplies around town from hospitals and individuals and then bring them back to the warehouse to ship on containers to different areas of need. In 2008 GSR, acquired and moved into it's own prime property with 73,000 sq. ft. of warehouse space plus significant offices. Since then, GSR has been able to expand its supply base by enlisting local and state hospitals, agricultural associations, charities and individuals to help. GSR is also a registered PVO with USAID and participates in surplus equipment and food programs as well as some transportation opportunities offered through the State Department.
GSR is fortunate enough to have gathered a Board made up of missionaries, doctors, lawyers and educators who are well experienced and well traveled in the areas we serve. Our staff has expanded to include people with vast experience of working both domestically and internationally.
